Can you be our Sherlock Allergen Master? Alexander the Elephant and his friends had spent a whole week planning a big springtime picnic. Their parents made lots of safe food for everyone and bought cold drinks that would be safe, too. The kids were all really excited: It was the first picnic that they had planned together!
On the big day, they all met at the park near their houses. They brought the safe food their parents had made and began to play some games: Frisbee, catch, tag – it was a blast!
Soon, all the kids were tired and hungry, and they went to the lunch tables and began eating as much as they could. One of Alexander’s friends, Jake, brought a box of candy up to Alexander and asked if they could eat it. Alexander looked at the ingredients but didn’t recognize any of them. They were really long words that looked like chemicals.
What should Alexander do?
Answer: Not eat the candy! That’s right. If you don’t know what’s in the food, don’t eat it!
