2010 Heart of FAAN
The 2010 Heart of FAAN Child Ambassador is Leandro de Armas! Leandro, age 7, will proudly represent FAAN throughout the year by talking about his experiences and participating in FAAN events.
Leandro, who is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and peas, plays the piano as well as tennis and soccer. He also likes to cook, break-dance, learn about insects, swim, read, and play with robots. He has a younger sister and several pets.
Leandro stays safe by reading labels and making sure that his parents always have an epinephrine auto-injector wherever he goes. He doesn’t eat foods without labels and he eats his own safe cupcakes at birthday celebrations at school.
One of the things that is very important to Leandro is food allergy awareness. He wants to do his part to make the world a safer place for people with food allergies by helping educate others.
